Is it consistent with the role the Lord has called your congregation to fill, with your goals, and your plans? If you have chosen the functional view of Christian education, among your top priorities will be organizing an effective committee on Christian education chaired by a competent and dedicated person, an excellent superintendent of the Sunday school, task forces or subcommittees to initiate and implement specialized educational programming, an adequate budget, attractive classrooms, and other resources necessary to fulfill your responsibilities.
